MIT Food and Agribusiness Innovation Prize Generator Dinner

November 19, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Interested in improving the global food and agriculture system? Have an early-stage idea, but need a team, mentor, or access to industry professionals? Interested in the topic, but don’t yet have an idea? Join us at the MIT Food and Agribusiness Innovation Prize Generator Dinner on Thursday, November 19th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Stratton Center (W20) – Twenty Chimneys (306).

This new prize is intended to be the premier food and agribusiness business plan competition for university and graduate students. It is sponsored by Rabobank*, a leading institution in agribusiness financing and is supported by J-WAFS and the MIT Food and Agriculture Club.

The competition will take place in two stages and finalists will present their business plans at an Award Ceremony hosted at MIT in the spring and compete to win $25,000 in total prize money. To get things moving, join us at the Generator Dinner for a chance to:

  • Learn about the challenges in food and agribusiness from the perspectives of prominent leaders such as Rabobank’s North American CEO Rajiv Singh, Director of the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel World Water and Food Security Lab (J-WAFS) Professor John H. Lienhard V, and more
  • Meet other students with similar interests to form teams
  • Eat great food and network with like-minded individuals

All MIT students and affiliates are welcome. The event is also open to students from other universities and industry experts from the Boston area. To help find like-minded teammates, please fill out this google form about your interests. We will share the spreadsheet with all participants.

Food and drink will be provided throughout. Please bring ID if you wish to drink alcohol.

Space is limited, so RSVP to guarantee your seat!
