Introduction to Pressure Canning Workshop with Kimi Ceridon

September 25, 2016 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

  • REGISTRATION REQUIRED VIA WLFARM.ORG! Canning is a great way to preserve the seasonal harvest so you can enjoy a bite of spring, summer, or fall throughout the winter. Hot water bath canning is a great way to preserve, but it also requires an acidic environment to prevent the growth of harmful pathogens. Fortunately, you can do low acid canning at home with a home pressure canner. During this class hosted by Kimi Ceridon, students will learn about equipment, resources and safety precautions for pressure canning. Then, we will use a pressure canner to preserve some fresh vegetables to take home.

Tuition fee: $35 per person (includes pint jar of canned vegetable soup)
