Agriculture and Climate Change: The Needs of Agriculture in a Warming Climate

September 3, 2014 @ 12:00 am - 1:15 pm

Join us this fall for our continuing Wednesday webinar series focused on state and federal policies that could improve our region’s food system.  The webinars explore in greater detail the policies and policy options described in our report, New England Food Policy: Building a Sustainable Food System.

Join us on September 3rd for the next webinar in our New England Food Policy series.  In this webinar we will explore what the federal government and New England states are doing to help farmers adapt and respond to a warming climate and increasingly complex and challenging weather patterns.  We will look at existing statewide climate change adaptation strategies, and discuss ways in which those strategies might be used to accelerate adoption of on-farm conservation practices, address production risks, and promote agriculture’s contribution to more climate-resilient communities.  We will also look at federal crop insurance and what options are available to help farmers minimize risk.
