The Harvest New England Agricultural Marketing Conference and Trade show is one of New England’s largest agricultural marketing conferences. The conference was first held in 2007 and takes place biennially.  In 2013, over 825 people attended the two-day conference. 25 breakout sessions organized into five focused tracks, two general sessions, and a full industry trade show with nearly 100 exhibitors was available. A local lunch each day and trade show reception boasted food from local producers, even in the middle of winter. Some very successful, well-know keynote speakers have kicked off the HNE Conference. 2007: Jane Eckert, CEO, Eckert Agrimarketing, St. Louis, MI Specializing in providing marketing resources and consultation to farms, wineries and those involved with direct farm marketing, Jane showed farmers how to market with more creativity than cash. 2009: Mel Allen, Editor for Yankee Magazine, Dublin, NH Speaking from his experience to gather stories for Yankee Magazine, Mel shared what he’s learned and how it has a beneficial marketing impact on consumers. 2011: John Stanley, John Stanley Associates, Australia A well-known retail consultant, currently residing in Australia, John traveled to Sturbridge, MA to share his retail expertise to increase sales at farmers’ markets and farm stores.2013: Roberta MacDonald, Senior VP of Marketing, Cabot Creamery Coop of VT, Cabot VT While her experience has allowed Roberta to work with extensive marketing budgets, low-cost or even no-cost marketing techniques were shared with attendees to reinforce a large marketing budget isn’t necessary.
